GERRARDS Cross U18s powered into the Mercian League finals day in May after a rampant 7-3 victory over Bromley & Bekenham in the Home Counties play-offs.
Cross knew defeat would mean they’d not play together as a team again, but after absorbing early pressure they went in front after 15 minutes.
Bromley quickly equalised, but Cross turned on the style with three more goals before the interval and then rammed home their advantage with further goals after 44 and 46 minutes.
A seventh came on the final whistle as Cross completed the rout.
Tom la Motte, Stevie Crowther, Graeme Scott, Mark Lilley, Miles Preston and Monty Cuthbert (2) scored in the win that follows victories over Northampton, Reading, Southgate, Wycombe and West Hers in the group stages.
Meanwhile, Gerrards Cross men lost 4-0 to West Hampstead in MBBO Regional League, Cross 2s beat Wycombe 1-0 and the third team beat Harrow 3-1.
In the Trysports League, Cross Ladies 2s beat Windsor 6-1.
