JASON Harrison has stood down from captain of the Bucks one-day team.
The Beaconsfield director of cricket will remain as captain of the county team playing in the Minor Counties Championship – now renamed the Unicorns Championship.
However, he has handed over the reigns to Tring Park’s Payne.
Harrison said: “We have decided that time is right for Michael Payne to take over the position of one day captain.
“Michael has all the qualities to be a success which I am sure we will see over the coming seasons."
Meanwhile, High Wycombe 15-year-old Saif Zaib will make his Bucks debut in a one-day match against Club Cricket Conference at Aston Rowant on Monday.
Gerrards Cross youngster Tom Hampton will also make his debut.
