WYCOMBE's former number one golfer Luke Donald will play the first two rounds with Phil Mickelson when a star-studded Scottish Open tees off tomorrow, but there is more at stake for Marlow's Tyrrell Hatton.

Donald joins Mickelson and Joost Luiten in an 8.20am tee time tomorrow as the world's best golfer complete final preparations for The Open Championship at Hoylake.

However, Hatton has his work cut out just to qualify.

The 22-year-old playing his first season on the European Tour needs a top three finish to earn his place in the field next week.

But his competition at the Scottish Open is world class and the field is arguably as strong as any major.

Alongside Donald, Hatton and Mickelson are the likes of Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIIroy, Thomas Bjorn, Ernie Els and Lee Westwood.

Hatton tees off tomorrow in the fourth last group at 3.10pm with Jamie McLeary, Carlos Del Moral.
