RGS HIGH Wycombe duo Ethan O’Connor and Lewis Howlett are setting their sights firmly on a British Junior Championship title this weekend following their crushing victory at Kingston Regatta last Sunday.
The 14-year-olds won their rounds with little trouble to book a final against Tideway Scullers, and again they romped to victory.
It was a slightly unusual victory though; their race was interrupted half way along the course but by then they had pulled so far clear that Scullers conceded defeat rather than start the race again.
O’Connor and Howlett are now tipped to do well in Nottingham.
Also at Kingston, RGS’ J13 double sculls crew David Lim and Matthew Craggs saw off Marlow to take victory in only their second competition, while the J14 quad won third place just behind Windsor Boys.
