PRINCES Risborough’s Geri Nicosia is back on top of the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship after a dream few days for the 15-year-old.

He won both races at Donington Park and then returned to the top of the championship when points for a previous victory were reinstated after his appeal against disqualification was upheld.

Nicosia set the eight fastest laps in practice at Donington and translated that into pole position and then victory in race one, before a second victory completed the perfect weekend for the Sir William Borlase’s pupil.

However, he still trailed championship leader Rob Cox until getting the news a few days later that his appeal against disqualification at Cadwell Park had been upheld.

With the points from that victory reinstated, he moved to 236 points with Cox on 227.

Michael Higgs (222) and Thomas Grundy (217) are also in contention in a four-horse race.

There are three rounds remaining, with the next taking place at Silverstone on August 9 and 10.
