BOURNE End CC are in pole position to take the Mid Bucks Cricket League Premier Division with one match of the season remaining.

They go to Wendover tomorrow with a seven point lead over Holmer Green, the only other side who can catch them.

Bourne End kept their noses in front with a commanding win over Waddesdon last weekend.

They bowled them out for just 77 before rattling off the runs with six wickets in hand.

Holmer Green made sure the title race went to the final day of the season with a similarly conclusive victory over Bradenham.

Batting first, Greens made 194-8 before dismissing their guests for 111.

Elsewhere in the division, Downley’s match with Ley Hill was rained off and Monks Risborough (152) were too good for Haddenham (134).

In Division One, Knotty Green have already wrapped up the title despite defeat to Little Gaddesden.

They made 204-8 in reply to Gaddesden’s 222-5.

In other matches, Prestwood (138) were overpowered by Potten End (220-5) and Widmer End (183-4) beat Ley Hill 2s (182).

Challoners had a free week.

In Division Two, Phoenix Old Boys (154-8) shared a tight finish Frieth (157-9).
