BEACONSFIELD SYCOB are rock bottom of the Southern League Central Division after failing to pick up any points this week.

They were beaten 2-1 at home by leaders Kettering on Saturday and didn’t do any better on Tuesday night when they lost 3-2 at Uxbridge.

Uxbridge led 2-0 before SYCOB battled back with goals from Omari Patrick and Ollie Jones after 50 and 61 minutes.

But Uxbridge hit them with a sucker punch 15 minutes from time to leave Andy Hurley’s men rooted to the foot of the table with eight points from 11 games.

Meanwhile, Marlow eased themselves up the table with a crucial 2-1 win over North Greenford United on Tuesday.

Mark Bartley’s men lost 3-1 to Royston on Saturday but Lee Barney put them in control with the opening goal against North Greenford after 23 minutes.

The visitors hit back on the hour, but Barney’s second on the stroke of full time secured all three points.

Bartley said: “Our performances over the past couple of games have been good.

“We were good against Royston but got nothing. On Tuesday we weren’t quite at that level but over the course of 90 minutes I think we deserved the three points.

“Sometimes in football you have long spells when you don’t get what you deserve, but we did on Tuesday and we need to build on that now.”

Tomorrow Marlow host Egham Town and Beaconsfield go to Potter Bar Town.

Bartley said: “Egham have just had a management change and they beat Royston in midweek so the players have obviously responded.

“They took six points of last season so we know what they’re about, but they’re just a few points ahead of us so if we could beat them it pull us up another couple of places.”
