CHESHAM United gave away a 4-1 lead last night as they missed the chance to close on the chasing pack in the Southern Premier League.
The Generals led 3-1 at the interval against Cambridge City courtesy of strikes from Dave Pearce, Inih Effiong and Mark Bell.
Bell netted again five minutes into the second half to seemingly wrap things up for United, but City were level by the 67th minute as Josh Dawkin scored and Chris Bacon completed a hat trick.
Chesham remain tenth in the table, having drawn both of their matches this week.
Elsewhere last night Chalfont St Peter beat Aylesbury United 3-0, with all the goals coming in the opening 20 minutes.
