DANNY Edwards has signed three new players in a bid to propel Chalfont St Peter up the table by converting draws into wins.

The Saints are the Southern Central League's draw specialists, sharing the spoils seven times in their 13 league fixtures.

Their latest draw came against Barton Rovers on Saturday as Alan Hedley ensured the game finished all square at 1-1, but a storming start to the derby match against Aylesbury United ensured a 3-0 win on Tuesday night.

Edwards said: "We probably should have had another couple. In the first half we were completely dominant and played some good stuff.

"We've been playing well, just not scoring enough goals. If you look at the table, the only other team to lose three games are top. We had a good cup run and have only lost four games all season.

"We think we've got the potential to kick but there's no point saying it if you're going to keep drawing.

"We haven't deserved to win all of those [drawn] games, but four or five of those, we've been disappointed not to have won. If we'd won those we'd probably be up in fourth or sixth position."

To remedy the situation Edwards has brought Adam Louth back to Mill Meadow and signed central defender Anthony Page from Harrow and former North Greenford captain Louis Stead.

The Saints boss also hopes to bring in another striker ahead of Saturday's trip to Ryman Premier League high fliers Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Trophy first qualifying round.

He said: "It's nice for the boys to test themselves against a very good side. They just missed out on the play offs last year and are in the play off places again - they're an outstanding football club. It's a really good tester to go there."

Meanwhile Saints have been drawn at home to Chesham United in the second round of the Southern League Cup, while Marlow will host Burnham.
