WYCOMBE Hockey Club were edged out in a tight match with PHC Chiswick in South Regional One.

Despite goals from Chris Goodchild, Alex Hayes and Jonny Maunder, they were beaten 4-3 at Cressex.

Wycombe 2s also went down in a hard-fought match, losing 2-1 to Amersham & Chalfont with Ben Butler scoring their consolation, but Wycombe 3s got the better of Aylesbury 2s, taking the points from a 1-0 win thanks to Sander Eland.

Elsewhere, Wycombe 4s were beaten 3-1 by Oxford Hawks 6s.

Stephen Cavanagh scored their goals while Richard Bibby scored a hat-trick for Wycombe 5s in a 7-0 triumph over Aylesbury 4s.

Owen Hunt scored two, with Stephen Hazelhurst and Kevin O’Linn also on target.

Completing the set, Wycombe 6s ended Ramgharia, Slough’s 100 per cent record with a 4-3 victory thanks to goals from Ed Gemmell, Colin James, Tom Kraft and Andy Wotherspoon.

Meanwhile, Marlow men’s first team were beaten 2-1 by Tulse Hill & Dulwich in Premier Division Two last weekend.

They were back in action on Tuesday when they pushed GB Women close in a friendly before going down 3-2. They return to league action at West Hampstead next Saturday.

Marlow 2s also lost last weekend, beaten 1-0 by OMT, although Marlow 3s were 5-0 victors over Windsor with goals from Ben Horan, Chris Burnett, Robin Walls and Ben Dawson.

That was their fourth win from four games this season.

Marlow 4s were even more emphatic in a 7-0 drubbing of Eastcote thanks to Peter Moralee (3), Trevor Jackson, Greg Tyler, Bernard Tyler and Jared Meohl, while Marlow 5s won 6-3 against Oxford Hawks 7s.
