MARLOW Hockey Club men's first team paid the price for a poor first half as they lost 4-2 at West Hampstead.

They were 2-0 at the break and it went from bad to worse after the interval as they conceded a third and fourth goal before finally responding.

Two goals in quick succession from Ali Dalton and Alex Land, gave them some hope, but the hosts had enough to protect their lead.

Meanwhile, Marlow 4s proved too good for OMT 4s in a 3-1 victory. Bernard Tyler opened the scoring when he chipped the keeper after 25 minutes.

Tyler was also instrumental in Marlow’s second, which was scored by Callum Harjette, and although OMT came out strongly in the second half and were rewarded with a goal, Harjette’s second of the match secured the point.

Elsewhere, Marlow 5s won 4-1 at Oxford 7s with Tom Sheldon (2), Henry Ormond and Tim Frost their scorers.

Meanwhile, Marlow Ladies 2s put Banbury 2s to the sword in their top-of-the-table clash.

They won 4-1 to extend their lead at the top.

Kirsty Goldie Brammer scored their first before Jo Goldie Brammer and Holly Brown sealed it.

Marlow Ladies 3s took the points from Wychwood Ladies thanks a 3-1 success.

Player of the Match Ella Tidy scored twice with Kyra Bola also on target as Marlow Ladies 3s came from a goal down.

Completing the set, Marlow Ladies 5s (Louise Hale, Louise Argles and Sarah Maddern) won 3-0 against Wokingham Ladies 3s.
