FOUR members of Micklefield Judo Club have qualified for the British Schools Championship after coming through their qualifying event.

Anusit Phalasan, Nikita Romanovskis and Samir Sydykov all won gold medals at the London Area British Schools qualifying event at Docklands University on Saturday to secure a place in March's finals.

Alisa Sydykova also booked her place in the finals after claiming a silver medal.

The club hopes more of its players, who are in school years eight and above, will be able to secure final places at more qualifying events in the new year.

Kim Day and Jamie Drew could be among them after missing out on Saturday despite also finishing the day with silver medals.

Team mates Devon Chapman and Chloe Dodge took home bronzes, while Joe Chraniuk secured a fifth placed finish.

The following day Micklefield hosted players from more than a dozen other clubs at an Under Eight Preparation Event.

Leo Redfern was voted player of the day after being one of the six Micklefield gold medalists.

Stanley Pusey, Nils Matisov, Charlie McKnight, Bobby Pusey and Harrison Elliott all won gold, Monty Dorling, Dylan Saganowski and Jesse Chraniuk claimed silver and Zeb Pearson and Isaac Kaminski both took home bronze.
