Chalfont St Peter suffered two defeats in four days as they slid down Division One Central.
The Saints became AFC Hayes’ first scalp in 14 attempts in the league on Saturday before Potters Bar Town took all three points when the two sides met on Tuesday night.
Danny Edwards’ team were left to rue missed opportunities against Hayes as the club bottom of the league scored an injury time winner to snatch the win.
Glenn Yala came closest for the hosts when he saw his header cannon off the bar but they couldn’t breakthrough and were subsequently punished when Ryan Debattista drilled a shot into the bottom corner in the 91st minute.
On Tuesday night Saints travelled to Potters Bar where the home side scored twice in the first half to settle the tie.
That defeat left Chalfont with three defeats from their last five league games as they slipped to eighth, nine points off the play-offs.
