Tyrrell Hatton finished tied for 55th place at the Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday.

The Marlow golfer finished three-under par after carding a final round of 73 at the tournament which was won by world number one Rory McIlroy.

After 18 holes at the Emirates Golf Club the 23-year-old was one-under before he shot a round of 69 on Friday to take him to four-under.

Rounds of 72 and 73 on Saturday and Sunday respectively meant he dropped a shot overall but the finish earns the Harleyford Golf Club member 6,790 points in the Race to Dubai standings.

Hatton is currently 40th in the standings, with fellow Englishman Danny Willett leading the way.

The Malaysian open is the next port of call for Hatton when the tournament begins on Thursday.
