Chesham Stagettes recorded a 10-0 victory against Woodbridge Amazons on Sunday to finish the season with a 100 per cent record.

With the league title already in the bag the Stagettes won their 12th and final fixture courtesy of a try in each half against a side who ended the campaign in fourth.

Scrum half Nicky Gross broke the deadlock in the first half as she evaded several tackles on her way through the Woodbridge defence to score.

The conversion was missed, but that didn’t deter the hosts from nearly crossing for a second time when flanker Kim Warren was held up after bundling her way over the line.

Some strong defence was required in the second 40 to keep the visitors at bay before winger Jane Morris found space on the wing and crashed over for Chesham’s second try of the game to make sure they chalked up a perfect record.

Captain Vicky Boorman said: “It's been hard work by everyone in the team week in and week out to get us to this point. All of the team have played their part and we have had some great support from the club and now we get to savour an unbeaten season.”
