Chalfont St Peter were thrashed 4-1 by Penn & Tylers Green in their Wycombe Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.

The Saints, who are two divisions above Penn, hosted the last four clash at Mill Meadow, and the sides were evenly matched in a goalless first half.

After the break it was a different story as the visitors stormed into the lead through captain Dean Munday before Chris Hurst doubled their advantage when he scored direct from a free-kick.

Hurst then met Jamie Pritchard’s cross to make it three with substitute Jonathan Feaver striking a fourth with 15 minutes left on the clock.

An own goal was little more than a consolation for Saints as Penn advanced to take their place in the final against Flackwell Heath on April 29.

The loss will have done nothing to raise spirits among Danny Edwards’ squad after they had endured a 13th league game without a win four days previously.

Bedford Town scored midway through the second half to scrape a 1-0 victory and leave Chalfont 17th in Southern One Central heading into a home tie against St Ives on Saturday.
