Geri Nicosia endured a tough weekend in the second instalment of the Ginetta Junior Championships at Donington Park.

The 15-year-old, who attends Sir William Borlase’s, struggled for pace during the practice sessions on Saturday before qualifying for the first race of the day in 16th place.

Nicosia managed to make up five places during the 11 lap race around the Leicestershire circuit, earning himself ten points in the process.

The second and final race of the day didn’t go so well for the Princes Risborough resident, whose earlier finish had ensured he started 11th on the grid.

An incident on lap four saw him slide down the field and he eventually finished 21st out of the 23 strong field.

The weekend of racing sees Nicosia fall two places in the overall standings to 13th ahead of rounds five and six at Thruxton on 9-10 May.
