Alex Danson was on the scoresheet again as Great Britain's hockey team moved to within one win of a place at the Olympic Games.

The Marlow resident opened the scoring as Team GB sunk South Africa 2-0 in the quarter finals of the World League.

That puts them into the semi finals - and with the top three sides at the tournament being guaranteed a place in Rio next year, one more win for Great Britain will confirm their place at the next Olympics.

Danson said: "We’re absolutely delighted. It was a really professional performance from the team. The secret is that there are 31 of us in this squad and we train so hard every single day - 31 of us won that match today and we’re delighted.

"We don’t mind who we play next. We do our homework on every team. We play to our strengths and our tactics and that’s what gets results."
