Marlow Sports Club patron Alex Danson scored in the World League final in Valencia on Sunday as Great Britain beat China 2-0 to take gold.
A seventh straight win capped a fantastic tournament for Britain, who had earlier secured their place at the 2016 Olympics in Rio with victory against Germany in the semi-final on Saturday.
Danson and her national teammates found the Chinese stiff opposition in the final but they forced their way into the lead when Hollie Webb fired past Dongxiao Li with six minutes remaining.
Five minutes after the restart it was the turn of Danson to take centre stage as the 30-year-old bagged her fourth goal of the tournament.
A driving run from Danson had earned Britain a penalty corner and after Webb’s initial shot was saved, Danson whacked the ball beyond Li to wrap up the win.
