After naming Geoff Warner as manager for the upcoming season, Beaconsfield SYCOB have now announced the appointment of a new club chairman.

Warner, a former coach at Fulham, took the top job earlier in July, with the club now moving to appoint Andy Agar as chairman.

The 45-year-old is a non-executive member of the FAB Academy advisory board, and he will work alongside new vice chairman Michael Saunders in his new role.

Agar said, “I am delighted to have been asked to take on the role of chairman of such a fantastic club. I am looking forward to working with the team of incredibly hard working and enthusiastic supporters who will make up our new Supporters Trust.

“I hope that I, and my fellow Board members, will have a positive impact on the club both on and off the pitch in the coming seasons and create a club which the local community can be proud of.

“I would also like to extend our thanks to out-going chairman Fred Deanus for his huge contribution to the club. Also to Paul Hughes who is standing down as vice chairman after 20 years service to the club.”

The FAB Academy, who offer a football and sporting education to GCSE leavers, provided the bulk of players for the Rams’ first team last season as the team finished 20th in the Southern Central division, and will do so again in the upcoming campaign.

On the pitch, SYCOB are yet to win in pre-season and have shipped 18 goals in three friendly matches so far.

A 5-1 defeat to Basingstoke Town in their opening pre-season fixture was followed up by 7-0 and 6-0 losses to Reading under-21s and Oxford City respectively.
