BOWLING ace Shakil Ahmed returned to the local cricket scene with devastating effect taking seven wickets for 51 for his new side Cookham Dean against Marlow.

He said: “It was my first game for Cookham Dean and the Shak Attack is back.”

Ahmed, a former Pakistan Test player, who previously was Beaconsfield’s chief weapon had being playing for North Maidenhead before he turned up in Cookham.

And the left arm spinner’s presence helped his new club to notch a 31-run victory.

He bowled six maidens in his 19 overs as Marlow were all out for 149 in 42 overs. Batting at ten he also contributed 13 with the bat of his side’s 190 in the Thames Valley League Division One match.

Leaders Chesham are next in line to face Ahmed’s bowling at Cookham Dean tomorrow when third will be out to overturn top.
