The second round of the Chesham & District Inter Schools Cross Country Series took place this weekend.

Dangerous weather conditions meant that the route was changed from its planned woodland track to a course that took the 600 competitors over farmer’s fields instead.

Matt Aldred of Chalfont St Peter, Gerrards Cross’ Abbie Henderson and St Mary’s athletes Mark Hughes and Frankie Baxter all had standout performances on Saturday.

Aldred matched the gold medal he won in round one of the series in his round two race while Henderson ran out a strong winner in the girls year six race ahead of teammate Holly Henderson.
