Beaconsfield High School enjoyed an excellent weekend as they had three netball teams go unbeaten while competing in National Championship events .

The performances mean that the teams have reached the regional round of competition for English school netball teams.

Headteacher, Rachel Smith, said: “The girls playing in the teams at the weekend should be very proud of their achievement. Their performance underpins the great sporting legacy of Beaconsfield High School.”

It has been a strong year in general for the school as the under-19 and under-16 teams reached the National Finals where the younger girls won the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, the under-12s reached the quarter-finals of the School Sport Magazine National Cup and the under-13 team made it to the final at the same competition.

The school has a strong tradition of competing at the National Championships and have won trophies at the event on multiple occasions.

Away from the action on the court the school has also announced a huge boost for their netball teams with a £30,000 investment set to resurface their three floodlit courts.

The courts will also be available for rent to the public, with former England team sponsors Zeo making a generous donation to the fund in acknowledgement of the school’s commitment to netball.

Having shown the quality of their netball teams already over the course of the season the hope is that the newly resurfaced courts will help continue this form.

Mrs Smith added: “We strongly believe in the importance of a broad spectrum of sport being played at all levels.

“We are seeing continued high national and regional performances in netball, hockey gymnastics, swimming and athletics.”
