Amerhsam & Chiltern’s remorseless pursuit of the London One North title showed little sign of slowing as they crushed Luton 45-10 on Saturday.

The win came with what has become an almost customary bonus point for Chiltern as they ran in seven tries.

Both teams started at a sluggish pace before an Andy Fluker penalty and Tom Blackburn try gave Chiltern an early advantage.

Andy Zair’s try added a further five points before half-time as Chiltern laboured to a 15-3 lead at the interval.

The second half was a different matter as Amersham came out quickly and a fine break from Zair allowed Joe Butler to dance over the line in typical fashion.

Lewis Edwards’ try then secured the bonus point in the 48th minute, and Josh Davies rounded of a clinical team move for a fifth try shortly after.

A try under the posts from Jordan Scott made it 39-3 as the hosts struggled to deal with a rampant Chiltern.

It was left to Butler to round off the win as he went over for his second try of the match with eight minutes remaining.

It was a less successful weekend for Marlow as they lost 18-10 against Walingford in their South West Division – South West Counties match.

The defeat means Marlow have won once in their last five league games, and have slipped to eighth in the table.

Their chances of discovering some form in their next game appear to be limited though, as they come up against league leaders Reading Abbey.

Abbey’s 322 points make them the League’s joint most prolific team and Marlow will have to be at their best to take anything from the game.

In the Southern Counties North, Beaconsfield failed to register a single point as Aylesbury eased to a 22-0 win.

The game was notable for Beaconsfield’s inability to cope with the visitor’s heavier pack.

Wet conditions saw the game become a defensive battle and Beaconsfield were ultimately outfought and outclassed by Aylesbury.

Elsewhere, High Wycombe were unfortunate to lose an unusually low scoring match against Swindon.

A solitary try decided the South West One East encounter as Swindon picked up a 5-0 win at home.

The small losing margin will be of little comfort to Wycombe, whose battle against relegation goes on.

They remain four points clear of the relegation places, and will be looking to pick up their first win since the start of December when they take on Trowbridge on Saturday.
