Wycombe High School’s (WHS) under-19 squash team have reached the National Finals after beating The King’s School in the National School Championships.

WHS took control of the match from the outset as first Emily Morgan beat her opponent 3-0 before Jessica Martin equalled her effort to put WHS in a commanding position.

The rapid start had seen WHS move to within three points of winning after just 20 minutes of play and Lauren Allington soon wrapped up the win.

She was made to work for the triumph though as after winning her first two games her Kings rival hit back to take the third.

Allington held her nerve though and won her fourth game 11-4 to take an overall victory by a score of 3-1.

With two ties to play, and a place at the National Championships already assured, WHS set about adding the gloss to an already memorable win.

First Alysha Martin recorded 11-2, 11-1 and 11-2 wins over her opponent to take a 3-0 victory before Cassie Green matched her result to secure a whitewash for WHS.

The under-19s will look to replicate the form shown against Cambridge based Kings when they head to Nottingham for the National Finals in March.
