Little Chalfont Tennis Club (LCTC) coach Colin Williams has been selected to be part of the Davis Cup Legacy (DCL) Programme.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has set up the DCL to help introduce Britain’s next generation of budding Andy Murray’s and Joanna Konta’s to the game.

Williams joined LCTC three and a half years ago and has had an instant and lasting impact on the amount of members involved at the club.

He has had particular success in the recruitment of junior participants, with the club seeing an 80 per cent increase in the number of youngsters coming through their doors since his arrival.

Williams is one of the key figures in LCTC’s open days and Saturday ‘Pay and Play’ sessions, and it is undoubtedly his impressive commitment to junior tennis which has led to the LTA’s interest in him.

His work has seen the Bucks LTA consistently compete at the top end of the national junior’s leader board where, despite being a relatively small club, LCTC have regularly ranked second.

Williams has attended a training session run by Davis Cup captain Leon Smith which has helped him prepare for the six week coaching course.

The course will be held at Little Chalfont Tennis Club from Saturday, 11 June to Saturday, 16 July. For more information or to register your interest click here.
