High Wycombe boxer Ben Smith has pulled out of his next fight after coming down with a virus.
The 19-year-old was due to fight at York Hall on Thursday, June 9, but decided to withdraw after the illness delayed the start of his training camp.
Smith, who recently extended the unbeaten start to his career to three fights with a win over Fonz Alexander, took to twitter to break the news.
He tweeted: “I’m sad to say I’ve had to pull out of my fight on the 9th of June due to a bad virus I’ve caught.
“It delayed my training camp for this fight too long and at the end of the day there is no rush in my career.
“Soon as I’m well again I’ll be back in the gym and hopefully have a new fight date just round the corner.”
