Freestyle Jet Skier Paul Hewitt produced an excellent display at the European Championships in France to secure a podium finish.

Hewitt, who trains at Westhrope Watersoprts Club in Marlow every weekend, headed to the So’Fun Jetski Village where he just missed out on top spot to finish second.

The competition was the opening event of the 2016 championship which has further stages in Poland and the UK.

Having just missed out to a French rider in the season opener, Hewitt will be hoping to go one better in the upcoming events.

The 48-year-old puts part of his success down to his use of mental performance coaching which he uses as a training tool.

The technique is designed to help athletes visualise their success and as Hewitt can’t train every day it is a priceless tool in helping him achieve his best performances.

He also runs weekly sessions for people who are interested in learning how to use mental performance coaching.

He will be hosting an event on his coaching techniques in Bisham Abbey on Saturday, July 30. More information on the event can be found by clicking here.
