World number one and reigning Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic will play at The Boodles next week.

The five-day competition, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, starts at Stoke Park next Tuesday with the final taking place on Saturday, June 25th.

Djokovic comes into the event fresh from becoming only the eighth man to complete a career grand slam after winning the French open earlier this month.

His inclusion is the standout name on a star studded list of competitors including Nick Kyrgios, Juan Martin del Potro and David Goffin, and The Boodles founder and director Patricio Apey is delighted with the impressive turnout.

He said: “We wanted a special line up for the 15th anniversary and that’s exactly what we have.

“We are incredibly privileged that Novak Djokovic has chosen to come to The Boodles every year since 2006 and will return once again to complete his Wimbledon preparations.

“We are also delighted to have former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro back from injury and joining us again along with some of the stars of the future in [Mischa] Zverev, Krygios and [Borna] Coric.”

The Boodles will be the only grass-court tournament 29-year-old Djokovic will play ahead of defending his Wimbledon crown.

Rafael Nadal was also due to be involved in the tournament but has had to withdraw due to his ongoing recovery from a wrist injury.
