Tyrrell Hatton finished tied for 10th at the USPGA in Baltusrol yesterday after recovering from a modest opening round.
The Marlow golfer carded scores of 71, 68, 66 and 68 to secure his best ever finish at the USPGA.
The result continues Hatton’s strong vain of form after the Harleyford Golf Club member claimed fifth and second and The Open and Scottish Open respectively.
He finished his opening round on +1, but some excellent golf in his remaining three rounds, including scoring -4 in the third round, led him to a finish of -7.
Hatton finished his fourth round particularly strongly as he sunk birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to secure his top 10th berth.
The 24-year-old ultimately finished seven shots behind eventual winner Jimmy Walker who held his nerve under pressure from Jason Day to claim his first major crown.
Hatton’s performance saw him move up one place in the world rankings to 52nd and he remains the eighth highest ranked Englishman.
