Katherine Grainger and Vicky Thornley finished second to secure qualification from their women’s double scull heat at the Rio Olympics.
The pair finished in a time of 7.05.32 to come in behind race winners Lithuania and claim safe passage to repechage stage of the event tomorrow.
The Team GB boat was followed by France in third who also gain a spot in the next stage of the event.
Grainger, who is a member at Marlow Rowing Club, is looking to defend the gold medal she won at London 2012 and is competing at her fifth Games.
Success would make here Britain’s most successful female Olympian.
