Tyrrell Hatton suffered a very disappointing Masters debut as he missed the cut after suffering during a brutal first two rounds at Augusta National.
The 25-year-old teed it up alongside Henrik Stenson and Angel Cabrera last Thursday and Friday but had a very hard time in the wind as he shot an eight over par 80 in the first round and followed that with a six over par 78 in the second round.
With the cut mark for the weekend at six over, Hatton missed the cut by eight shots and his hopes of becoming the first Masters debutant to win since 1979 were ended.
Hatton took to Twitter to express his disappointment. He said: “Well certainly a Masters debut to forget for me but at least I broke 80 today.
“Hopefully play better next week.”
The eventual winner was Spain’s Sergio Garcia who beat England’s Justin Rose in a playoff after an epic duel on the famous back nine.
