Alex Hales scored 61 off 60 balls as England cruised to victory over South Africa in the first ODI at Headingley yesterday.
The former Chesham Grammar School pupil played a starring role in the 72-run victory.
Hales helped England score 339/6 off their 50 overs with Eoin Morgan scoring 107 and Moeen Ali 77 not out.
In reply, the visitors looked to be going well but four wickets by Chris Woakes saw the South Africans slump to 267 all out.
The next ODI will be played on Saturday.
