Beaconsfield returned home from the long trip to Rushden with three well deserved points for arguably their best performance of the season so far.

The first twenty minutes were pretty much all Beaconsfield with Charlie Losasso seeing a free kick and shot go just wide, Spencer Bellotti having a header well saved by Diamonds Ben Heath and Elliott Carey sending a shot just inches wide.

However, on 28 minutes a mistimed tackle brought the home side a penalty though fortunately for the Rams, Liam Dolman smashed his effort against the post and out to safety.

The Diamonds were on top of the league at the start of play and gradually started to get into the game with Dolman putting a header over when well placed on 34 minutes.

Four minutes later they had the lead as a corner found Darryl Smith in space and he headed firmly past Jamie Norris. The Rams keeper, however, was in superb form to deny Nabil Shariff and Chris Dillon efforts before half-time to ensure his side went into the break still in the game.

The second period started with a Losasso effort going just wide whilst Aaron Morgan was denied by a good save from Heath on 59 minutes.

Five minutes later, the Rams had their deserved equalizer as an inch perfect Losasso cross found Carey unmarked and he nodded expertly past Heath.

Norris made another fine save on 73 minutes to deny Shariff whilst an 80th minute Losasso free kick found its way to Jerome Eccleston who took his time and put in a fine shot that whistled across the home goal.

On 83 minutes, however, Losasso turned his marker on the edge of the box and let loose a shot that flew past Heath.

The last five minutes saw Rushden try in vain to breakdown a well marshalled Rams defence held firm for a superb win.
