A game in which Marlow took an early lead, had chances to increase this further but ultimately went on to lose late on after a red card left supporters and management alike frustrated yet again.

Marlow started well when Kamaron English cut in from the right in the sixth minute, checked and chipped a ball goalwards which took a slight deflection off the head of a defender and flew past keeper Marin Conway into the far top corner.

Having survived this spell from the visitors Marlow were pushing again at the other end where Charlie Samuel fought to gain possession and having done so saw his low shot turned round the post for a corner, by Conway in the Kempston goal, at full-stretch. Conway did the same again as half-time approached to deny Samuel once more as he collected a pass from English and again looked to find the corner of the goal.

On 57 minutes later Rovers had the ball in the net after a quick break from their own defence. Newman held the ball up at the Marlow end and then slipped it inside to substitute Luke Heneghan who fired past Grant.

Worse was to come for the Blues as minutes later Curtis Chapple received a second yellow card for a late tackle.

As the game entered the final 10 minutes Grant left his six yard box to try to reach a high ball, failed to get to it and whilst trying to recover his position saw a low drive from Shepherd from outside the area hit past him to put the visitors ahead.

To their credit the Blues almost got back in but suffered an unlucky defeat to the Beds outfit.
