Marlow United smashed their goal scoring record which had stood at 13 with the defeat of Edwin Cooper Sports from 1979 as they overwhelmed a bewildered Taplow United 14-0 in the first round of the BTC Cup.

Surdariu Catalin led the way with a first half hat-trick, the opener arriving on three minutes with a superb left foot shot from twenty five yards which left the keeper grasping thin air.

Qwam Thomas adding two goals and Ollie Flint one in a torrid first half for Taplow who had no answer to the flair of a rampant Marlow team.
Six goals too the good the hosts were in no mood to ease up and the onslaught continued after the interval with Liam Bushay smashing four second half goals.

Catalin added United’s seventh before Bushay added the eighth and ninth, Thomas then completed his hat-trick with further goals from Flint, notching his second of the day, Andrew Nicol and finally Bushay completing the rout with his fourth goal. Nicol and Bushay then hit the 13th and 14th goals to seal victory.
