Marlow beat Northwood 2-1 on Saturday to end a run of four straight defeats and also added to that win with a fine 4-2 victory against Aylesbury in the cup on Tuesday evening.

The first period against Northwood saw few chances of producing a goal at either end with the first coming for the visitors in the 16th minute following and Isaac Osei-Tutu run along the left followed by a low ball in which Jordan Brown turned back for Kelvin Bossman to see the Wood’s keeper push his diving header away.

The Blues took the lead four minutes before the break thanks to the Bossman brothers – Allen driving in a corner from the right and Kelvin’s perfect header beating the keeper in his top left angle.

Marlow started the second half by far the brighter and a spell of inter-passing between Junaid Bell and Kelvin Bossman just five minutes after the restart saw Bossman’s shot end in the side netting before the home side started to come more into the game which eventually saw them grab an equaliser with 58 minutes on the clock

Marlow gradually worked their way back into control and the introduction of Marcus Mealing and Kamaron English provided added impetus. It was Mealing who got the winner, deflecting a mishit shot from Channing Campbell-Young into the home net in the 84th minute.

On Tuesday, Marlow beat Aylesbury 4-2 in the BigFreeBet Cup.
Two goals from Bell, plus one each from Mealing and English gave them a much deserved triumph ahead of this weekend’s game with Aveley FC (kick off 3pm).
