Wycombe district side made the relatively short journey to Twyford, Berkshire to face a strong Wokingham side in their first league match of the season on Saturday.

Wycombe gifted Wokingham a goal inside five minutes as the Wokingham forward picked up a loose goal kick before firing it home.

Fifteen minutes in Wycombe’s pressure forced a corner. An excellent delivery from Moore found Mantle who couldn’t miss with a bullet header into the back of the net.

On 20 minutes Light found Louis-Pitt with an inch perfect though ball which Louis-Pitt neatly finished past the Wokingham Keeper giving Wycombe a 2-1 lead into half-time.

Wokingham came out of the blocks in the second half and an excellent solo goal saw them level the score at 2-2. This didn’t deter Wycombe though and another neat move saw Moore link up with Aikman who calmly slotted away his chance putting Wycombe 3-2 up. Unfortunately, with just under 15 minutes to go some poor making from a Wokingham corner found their player unmarked on the far post who had a simple tap in.

Wycombe face Oxford in the Southern Counties League at home on Saturday, kick off 11am.
