High Wycombe racer AJ Owen has been testing out a new car at Donington Park ahead of next season.
Owen has been testing a Renault Clio as he looks to move to pastures new.
Owen explained that the Clio is completely different from his Honda Civic which has served him so well.
He said: “It is like night and day. The braking is one aspect which is so different. You can slam your foot and it stops on a knife-edge whereas the Civic took a lot longer to stop.
“It is the same weight as the Civic but the power delivery is markedly easier.”
Owen is hoping that he will be able to drive the Clio in 2018, adding: “That was the only testing I am scheduled to do and it went really well.
“I am now looking ahead to hopefully get some sponsorship so I am eligible to drive the Clio for next season, beginning in March or April time and hopefully we can get the budget to do it.”
