Beaconsfield went top of the table after a narrow 20-17 win over fierce rivals Buckingham.

Beaconsfield opened their score with a try in the fist ten minutes, following early home play from Buckingham using their forwards down the middle. 

The second try came from No 12 Matt Beard through some excellent backs play again after more pressure in the 22. Aled Lewis then converted taking the score to 12-0

After the interval Buckingham came out of the blocks with a vengeance scoring a try in the left hand corner. This came from a kick off ball to the middle of the pitch which was picked up and resulted in a scrum five metres out from the line. Buckingham then pushed over for their first try to make it 12-5.

Beaconsfield responded from a line out 5 metres out the forwards took the ball and proved to be unstoppable with Kong Li moving the score onto 17-5, Aled put the conversion just wide of the post.

However, the home side stormed back to make it 17-17 before drama in the final minute which got the visitors victory.

It was a penalty in the dying moment that finally decided the score from just outside the 22 with Aled Lewis stepping up to secure the win.

A good win for Beaconsfield after a tense second half.
