A superb display by Amersham & Chiltern saw them bounce back to beat struggling Saffron Walden 36-12.
It did not take A&C long to find their stride again and after some swift hands, attacking the wider channels, Lloyd Anderson slipped over for the first of his four tries on the day. Despite the acute angle, Stuart Pearham landed a fine conversion to take the score to 12-0 after 12 minutes.
A&C made their quality count and went into the break 22-0 ahead.
The third quarter of the game saw little action, before Saffron Walden came back to make it 22-12. With the hosts dreaming of a comeback, A&C woke up and with a fine sequence of hands, Ollie Choules broke clear before off-loading to Anderson for his third try.
In the dying seconds, a brutal run from Anderson, bouncing off five tackles walked in under the posts to close the game out 36-12
