Risborough Rangers had to settle for a share of the points as a dogged Wodson Park held firm to secure a 0-0 draw despite having a man sent off.

The home side started well with James Shrimpton shooting over from a tight angle before Lamar Mason-Williams raced at the Wodson defence and sent a vicious shot inches wide.

It was all Rangers, and the best chance of the half came on 18 minutes when the Wodson goalkeeper saved brilliantly from Wyllie with Griggs heading the rebound over.

As half-time approached, Griggs found Mason-Williams who beat his man to see his shot brilliantly saved by the Park custodian.

If Rangers thought that the second half would bring as many chances as the first they were very much mistaken as Wodson Park tightened up across the back and in midfield and it was the away side who had their only real chance of the game when top scorer Babbage shot straight at Jack Brooker.

Babbage then saw red after a long ball outfoxed the Rangers defence, the striker raced through. Brooker arrived first and Babbage raised his foot catching the goalkeeper in the face. The striker appeared to make a genuine attempt for the ball but to the letter of the law the referee had no option but to send him off.

Justin Gordon then sent in a long-range effort that was easily dealt with before a period of fifteen minutes of little goal-mouth action as the visitors shut up shop. Rangers finished with an injury time Griggs header just over and substitute Jake Bradshaw shooting wide when well placed.

Not a pretty game on a difficult surface and the visitors should be congratulated for their fitness and determination. It's easy to see why they are well placed in the division.
