Princes Risborough driver Geri Nicosia has announced a late entry to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge and is aiming for a title victory.
Nicosia ran in the two BTCC supporting rounds last year scoring three wins and a second place in his four races but budgetary constraints meant he could not compete in the other rounds
This year, Nicosia, 18, will be running with Wakefield-based Optimum Motorsport, who while racing globally, are also the most successful race team in Ginetta championships.
Nicosia said: "We had a lot of offers from most of the BTCC support packages and British GT, but Optimum came up with the best deal.
"We’ve missed all the pre-race testing, and there is a very competitive field, so winning the title will be difficult, but we hope to be up there at the end of the season."
Nicosia will drive his car for the first time this week before the first round at Oulton Park on Easter Monday
