Tyrrell Hatton is in good form ahead of another tilt at the Masters as he hopes to improve on last year's showing at the iconic Augusta National.

Hatton, 26, has been in decent form this year, finishing close to the top of the leaderboard on numerous occasions despite not winning.

He came so close to winning the WGC-Mexico Championship but bogeyed the last to finish in third place behind Phil Mickelson.

However, having played Augusta once before, Hatton took a reconnaissance mission to Georgia to get used to the subtle nuances.of the greens and contours of the course.

Last year, Hatton had a terrible first two days, missing the cut and finishing third from last. He told The Sun: “I was shell-shocked by what happened last year, to be honest.

“It wasn’t like I wasn’t trying, because I’m proud of the fact you have to nail  me down to keep me there.

“I’ve always had the attitude that you never give up — no matter just how  hopeless things are looking."

He will be paired with Gary Woodland from the USA and Yusaky Miyazoto from Japan in the first two rounds, teeing of 6.16pm BST.
