Beaconsfield Rugby Club first XV have won the Southern Counties North division title after a comprehensive 46-15 victory over rivals Buckingham.

From the off, Beaconsfield took Buckingham apart and played some slick, fluent rugby which dismantled the visitors' defence.

Aled Lewis, in particular, had a great game with his trusty right boot, putting over some wonderful kicks to keep the momentum going.

The win was greeted by joyful scenes and chairman Chris Summers thanked everyone at the club for the season.

He said: "With the fantastic coaches, management and players that we have, confidence was high, but that didn't mean there were no nerves.

"The sun was almost out, the pitch looked fantastic and the crowd was in good voice, all it needed was a great game of rugby and as ever, that is exactly what we got. The first 15 or so minutes Buckingham really played hard and appeared to dominate, but then Beaconsfield seemed to step up a couple of gears, dominated every scrum and gave the backs excellent ball to play with. It is no coincidence that the majority of the tries came through superb move in the three quarters following the hard work of the pack.

"Well done to everyone concerned, the DoR, the coaches, the management, the physios, the groundsman, the players, the supporters and every member of BRFC that has put in such great efforts to make this happen and create such a brilliant atmosphere. Onwards and upwards."
