Chesham were no match for a Hereford side who look certain to win the league title as they were comprehensively beaten 3-0

This game was effectively over after ten minutes when the home side were two goals up, after which they coasted through the rest of the game with Chesham never looking like pulling back the deficit.

There was one change to the starting line-up, David Hutton coming in for Dave Pearce although the change only lasted 27 minutes after an injury to Hutton.

Hereford took the lead in the seventh minute, when Lance Smith headed down a Ryan Green free kick for Keyon Reffell to sweep the ball past Hafed Al-Droubi.

Three minutes later Smith got on the end of another ball into the area, turned and comfortably beat Al-Droubi to make it 2-0.

Hereford continued to dominate and on 17 minutes Jefferson Myrie-Williams shot just past the far post after cutting in from the left, then Rob Purdie shot just over from outside the area.

The home side eased off for the remainder of the half while remaining in complete control of the game.

Just after the half-hour mark Smith headed over from an Eliot Richards cross, while Chesham failed to muster a noteworthy attack in the half.

Early in the second half Smith headed over from a Ryan Green cross, and a long-range effort from Richards was deflected away for a corner.

On 57 minutes Chesham had their first effort on goal, when an Al-Droubi goal kick was headed back towards his own goal by Green and Lewis Toomey fired in a shot that forced a smart low save from keeper Will Puddy.

Shortly afterwards Oran Swales found some space on the Chesham left but shot high and wide, and that was the sum total of Chesham’s efforts on goal.

On 67 minutes  Al-Droubi parried a close-range shot from Lance Smith, but the ball fell for Jefferson Myrie-Williams to score the home side’s third from the edge of the six-yard box.

In the next few minutes Richards tried an overhead kick which went tamely over the bar, and Al-Droubi dived to his right to keep out another Richards shot. Keyon Reffell had two headers in quick succession, one of which was easily saved and the other flew harmlessly over.

As the game drew to a close Mike Symons and Richards both tried their luck from distance but both efforts were off target.
