Rangers bounced back from the the disappointment of an injury time defeat at Winslow less than 48 hours previously to beat Enfield Borough 4-2.

Enfield began by playing some attractive football on a difficult surface but it was Rangers that had the first real chance five minutes in when Taylor Collins was thwarted on the edge of the penalty area by the visiting keeper.

Two minutes later it was Collins again, shooting just over from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Borough's clever football caused problems at the other end and Jack Brooker was forced into a brilliant save, diving low to his left to deflect a vicious shot against a post.

Moments later Justin Gordon made a vital tackle in the Rangers penalty area to deny Enfield as the visitors turned the screw. This appeared to galvanize the home side and on 25 minutes they took the lead.

Following some clever interplay between Lawrence Clark and Marcus Wyllie, Clark was up-ended on the edge of the Enfield area. Martin Griggs stepped up and curled a brilliant free kick around the wall to score.

A few minutes later and Rangers were two-up after Collins' near post corner found Griggs who neatly turned the ball home for his 35th goal of the season.

Five minutes before the break and Rangers scored the best goal of the game when Clark played a neat one two with Griggs, he then rode several challenges before squaring the ball to Wyllie who wrapped it up with a shot on the turn.

Moments before half-time, both Collins and Clark had shots blocked as Rangers attacked at will. They made it four when Clark's free kick was powerfully headed home by centre half Jordan Davis.

The second half began with Enfield looking determined to get back into the game as they forced a spate of corners and shots early on, but with the Rangers defence in confident mood the sting was soon taken out of the lively start as the game died down with loose passes from both sides going astray.

With 18 minutes remaining Enfield pulled one back with a fine run and shot that nestled in the far corner, giving Brooker no chance. Rangers woke up for a short spell as Asher Yearwood's header bought a good save from the visitors keeper.

Davis then headed wide when well placed from a corner and Griggs volleyed over from 10 yards. Rangers understandably began to tire following their exploits Thursday evening and their efforts in the first half, as Enfield searched for another.

Borough were rewarded when their high pressing paid off as Jason Castello was robbed in his own area and the ball was poked home. This caused some concern for the Rangers fans but Borough ruined whatever chance they had of a full comeback when their centre forward was foolishly sent off and Rangers were able to comfortably manage the game out against the ten-men from Enfield.
