FairBreak and the Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network, in conjunction with the Sir Paul Getty XI, are launching the annual Day of Gender Equality at Wormsley Estate on May 30 featuring a T20 women’s cricket match, with world-class players from eleven countries.

The day will examine the crucial issues of gender equality, such as equal pay and governance, and further the FairBreak mission of opportunity and equality for all.

This match is a significant milestone for the Sir Paul Getty XI who will field their first ever women’s team captained by Charlotte Edwards.

The Sir Paul Getty XI will play a newly formed FairBreak team selected from Oman, Vanuatu, Rwanda, USA, Canada, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, West Indies, and Australia. We belive the first time that this has occurred in women’s cricket.

Stephen Duval, co-founder of 23 Capital, said: “We are delighted to support this first annual event in support of women’s cricket and the campaign for equal pay in sport.

"With such a stellar line-up of talent taking the field, spectators are set for a great day, and we hope that it will contribute to the important conversation taking place more widely about gender equality.”

Both teams are fielding elite players with Suzie Bates from New Zealand, Alex Blackwell from Australia and Shamilia Connell rom the West Indies representing FairBreak. In their first match as a team,

Wormsley’s cricket manager, Simon Tremlin added: “Wormsley, often described as one of the most beautiful grounds in the world, is looking forward to welcoming FairBreak on May 30.

“The Sir Paul Getty Women’s XI will continue the tradition of top-level women’s cricket at Wormsley started by the England, Australia and India women’s sides.”
