Beaconsfield Town were crowned champions of the Evo-Stik League South, East after beating Marlow 1-0 to ensure they couldn't be caught by Rushden & Diamonds.

The hosts for sure made life difficult for The Rams, Sanchez Cammock forcing a save out of Brendan Hazlett on three minutes.

A meandering game then came to controversial life on 38 minutes when Jerome Eccleston stooped to nod the ball well over the line only to see it scooped out by Marlow and play continue as none of the officials felt it had crossed the line.

Thankfully, this was not to prove decisive as on 53 minutes a corner from Baj Pashaj was met by a strong header from Eccleston. Grant got a hand to it but couldn’t hold it and Lee Barney was able to swivel and slam the ball in to the net.

The celebrations of the players, squad members and coaching staff at the final whistle will live long in the memory of everyone connected to Beaconsfield Town F.C.

The club has made it to Step 3 of the football pyramid, the highest it has ever been. It has a young, visionary manager with a hard working back room team. It has a close knit squad who will be more than capable of holding their own in the level above.
