Blues fine striker

WANDERERS have fined their star striker.

Blues boss Peter Tayloer has fined Scott McGleish for taking off his shirt and throwing it to the ground after being substituted in Saturday’s goalless draw with Brentford.

Taylor said: “He’s been disciplined for that. I don’t want to see that. It’s a team game.

“But he’s apologised and taken it on the chin."

For more, plus Taylor's verdict on his team's scoring record, see Friday's Bucks Free Press.

Mr Taylor, if football is a team game YOU will not foster team spirit by washing your dirty linen in public.
To publicly chastise a player in this manner is wrong, although a footballer, he deserves the same privacy as anyone else in the workplace when being disciplined.
I take it when Mr Taylor gets it wrong he'll keep quiet.
Scott McGleish showed what many footballers lack, a passion for his chosen profession, we don't need the manager throwing a tantrum to rock team morale.

Agreed George these things are best dealt with internally and not made public. Must say that Scott McGleish gives "his all" when playing for Wycombe and you can sympathise with him for this action in the heat of the moment.
